Principal’s Message

It has been such a pleasure to have joined the community at TC as Acting Principal. I would like to thank everyone who has welcomed me warmly to the school. I have spent the term learning what makes TC unique, how the students go about their learning, and how the school deliberately acts to include everyone. It has been a pleasure to observe, listen, and have shared with me the experiences of being a student or staff member at TC.

There have been so many highlights in our program this term, far too many to mention, but they include the school musical ‘Legally Blonde’, the numerous camps, excursions, and incursions. The community events at lunchtimes culminating in a staff v grads volleyball game, classroom experiments, and most importantly the obvious classroom relationships that facilitate learning in every classroom.

The recruitment process for the next substantive principal will be led by the Department of Education in collaboration with the TC School Council at some point in Term 4. We will communicate any information as it is available.

I would like to acknowledge the extraordinary work done by the staff at the school that supports the learning and wellbeing of the students who attend TC. The staff go well above what is expected, all in the pursuit of what is best for the students at the school. They are exceptional in their dedication.

Finally, I would like to wish Adam Cribbes the best of luck as he takes on the role of Principal at Fitzroy High School. Adam has contributed so much to TC in his six years at the school. I know he will make a significant contribution to the school community in Fitzroy.

I wish all members of the TC community a safe and restful break.

Student Achievements

Zoey Minca receives Victoria Day Award

FLE4 student Zoey Minca has been recognised for her outstanding commitment to community service, receiving a 2025 Victoria Day Award in the Ringwood Electorate🏅

Zoey was the only junior recipient this year, acknowledged for her exceptional leadership, compassion ❤️ and community spirit through her volunteer work with Maroondah Volleyball 🏐. The award was presented by Nick McGowan MP (pictured right with Zoe and her mother Annette) at the Victoria Day celebrations.

Since March last year, Zoey has taken on a variety of roles at Maroondah Volleyball including refereeing, scoring, assisting at events and competitions, and even helping to organise the store room📋. “I’ve really enjoyed being part of a community that supports all players, no matter their level,” Zoey explained.

Her decision to volunteer came from her love of the sport and a desire to give back. “I wanted to help out Maroondah Volleyball as they’ve given me so many opportunities. Volunteering has allowed me to contribute beyond playing,” she said.

Zoey admitted the recognition came as a surprise: “It was unexpected... It feels great knowing that something you do naturally can make such a positive impact on the Maroondah Volleyball community.” 🌟

👏Congratulations, Zoey, on this incredible achievement!
