Korean High school visit
Senior students from Gyeonggi Mechanical Technical High School visited TC on 31 October 2025. They were in Melbourne to participate in a global internship program partnered with Melbourne Polytechnic๐๐ค The Department of Education partners with different programs to facilitate relationships and they contacted TC to request a visit to our school.
We thought this would be a good opportunity to foster a positive relationship with our Korean counterparts to possibly encourage more Korean students to come to TC to study. It was also a good opportunity for our own students to lead and present on their programs.
We asked the robotics class and reptiles class to show the Korean students the work they were doing๐ค๐ฆ
Language Centre activities
Students write about their Excursion to Healesville Sanctuary -26 November 2025 ๐จ๐ฆ๐ฟ
Bob - On Wednesday, we went to Healesville Sanctuary. It was the first time in my life that I saw kangaroos, koalas and countless little birds๐จ They are so beautiful, truly showcasing the wonders of nature. Among them, my favourite was Australia's national treasure - the platypus. If you ask me why I like it, it is because of its amazing body structure and the huge impact it had on those who supported the theory of natural selection back in the day. This really highlights how special it is. Male platypuses have an enormous spur on their hind feet. In the end, I felt very happy and it made me appreciate the beauty of nature.
Elise - Last Wednesday our language centre students went to Healesville Sanctuary. When we get there, the first thing we saw was the koalas. Then we saw some cute kangaroos. ๐ฆ ๐ฆAnd my favourite part was watching the bird show, because I can see many different beautiful birds and learn about them. I learned some things about koalas' habits, such as they like staying in eucalyptus trees. I think this trip was very interesting and meaningful because I could spend time with my good friends and learn a lot.
Christmas Tree ๐๐
A fun activity is to ask the LC student to set up the Christmas tree and decorations. Itโs a fun and festive way to learn about the Christmas holidays๐ ๐
Homestay Training
๐ Once a year we are asked to hold a homestay training for all our host families. An opportunity to keep them updated on new policies and child safety requirements but also a good opportunity for us to thank them for their support through the years with a small lunch.
